Why Bingham?

Why Bingham? (NOT WEBSAFE)

Impact of teachers at Bingham. (NOT WEBSAFE)

At Bingham we see ourselves as missionaries - the classroom, students and their families are our ministry and mission field. We also support other missionaries in their work in Ethiopia by education their children; but our primary work is to Teach Truth, Equip Generations and Change the World for God’s Glory through relationships with students and their families.  The videos to the left may explain this better. (The password is tgr81m - please don’t share these videos on websites, blogs or social media.)

Key to impacting the world for God’s Glory this is the demographic of our student body.

  • 40% of our student body are mission families - they are impacting the world now. Some in overt ways like church planting, discipling of church leaders etc; others are more creative access groups, doing water engineering, veterinary work, medicine etc.

  • Statistically, mission kids are more likely to go into missions - so we're already equipping the next generation of missionaries who will go to the nations, impacting the world for God’s glory themselves.

  • Ethiopians - national and diaspora families who are leaders in politics, business, industry and communities in Addis and across Ethiopia - by supporting the Gospel in these groups we know that we are impacting Ethiopian society for God's glory - both now as we minister to students and families and in the future as our students mature and become the next generations of leaders in Ethiopia.

  • African Union and Diplomatic families at the school are influential across the whole continent of Africa. As we walk with these groups we are supporting these influencers for God's glory. The children of these families will grow to be the next generation of leaders across Africa.

When you talk with supporters, you can tell them of the great impact your work will have for the Kingdom. Teachers at Bingham Academy are not only support staff for the “real missionaries” who are doing God’s work. Supporting others is our privilege and our joy, but our primary role is to see young people and their families who need to know Jesus come to faith.
