Campus Overview

Our Learning Environment

Bingham Academy’s commitment to academic excellence begins with the learning environment. Our school is located on a spacious green campus in the outer suburbs of Addis Ababa. Our campus buildings are arranged to maximize focused learning, creative play, extra-curricular activities and the safety of our children.

The campus setting allows for regular opportunities for outdoor interaction as elementary and secondary students, teachers and staff move about campus.

Academic Building

Our elementary classrooms are spread across 4 campus buildings. These colorful spaces complete with reading lofts and nooks create a fun and focused learning environment.

Our secondary classrooms are housed in the Gowans Center and include science and computer labs as well as outside spaces for tutoring and study groups. The Athletic Director and Secondary school counselor also have offices located in the Gowans Center

Most of Bingham’s administrative staff have offices in the Admin Building, including the Director, Human Resources, Project Manager, Accounting/Finance, Food Service Coordinator, Registrar, Marketing and School Nurse.

Our Elementary and Secondary Principals as well as our Learning Support team can be found in the Hub, centrally located between the elementary school and the secondary school.

Our campus also has several classrooms reserved for study of Amharic – Ethiopia’s national language.

The Graham Hay Memorial Library is available for students, staff and parents from 7:45am until 4:45pm. The library remains open during recess and lunch time. Students staying late are encouraged to use the library for studying or reading.
